Our instructors are always right by your side to assist with board positioning and to ensure you feel secure throughout the entire session.

3. What equipment is included in the surfing lesson?

Answer: We provide everything you need to get started. When you book your surfing lessons through Jaco360, we include a high-quality soft-top surfboard (which is safer and more buoyant for beginners), a leash, and a rash guard to protect you from the sun and board wax. If you are an intermediate surfer, we can also arrange for a variety of “hard” boards tailored to your specific size and style.

4. How long does it usually take to actually stand up on the board?

Answer: Most of our students are able to stand up and ride a wave during their very first lesson! Our Jaco Beach surfing lessons begin with a 20-minute land-based tutorial where we cover safety, paddling technique, and the “pop-up” motion. By the time you hit the water, you’ll have the muscle memory needed to catch a wave. Our instructors are experts at giving you the “push” you need to get the momentum right.
